What are Florida Teen Driving Laws?
Florida has a graduated licensing system, which means that before acquiring full driving privileges, teens between the ages of 15-17 must first learn to drive safely accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or adult over the age of 21 with a valid driver's license.
- At the age of 15, teens can apply for a learner's permit.
- Teens may only drive during daylight hours for the first 90 days.
- After a year of driving experience and an accumulated 50 hours of driving experience (10 of which must be at night), teens may apply for a driver's license.
- At age 16, licensed teenagers may only drive between 6:00 AM-11:00 PM.
- At age 17, the allowed driving period is extended to 5:00 AM-1:00 AM.
